Reactive Catering Maintenance
Catering equipment breakdowns always seem to happen at the wrong times. Broken equipment puts additional pressure on other parts of your kitchen while you try to work around your broken fryer or griddle. Here at Omega we understand the pressures this has on your kitchen and the implications it can have if left out of order.
Our commercial catering engineers are on hand to help you out in an emergency 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our service team deal daily with all types of emergency and non critical service calls.
Non Critical Service Calls
Non critical calls might be steam escaping from a combi oven door due to an eroded door seal or an oven lamp blown inside an appliance. These type of calls are non critical as they don’t really interfere with the operation of the appliance but do need attention.
Critical Service Calls
Critical service calls are components on a piece of equipment that is critical to its operation. This might include an element, PCB control, switch, contactor or a pump. Without these critical parts most if not all equipment will stop functioning properly and deem the equipment out of order.
Reactive Maintenance
All service calls that we receive are classed as urgent and depending on our workload we may react quicker to a critical out of action piece of equipment over a non critical piece of equipment that is still in action. Our customers understand and appreciate that a working piece of equipment doesn’t carry the same urgency as a complete breakdown.
To back up our service level, we hold over £500,000 worth of commercial catering spares in stock at any one given time. This along with our engineers stock holding ensures a speedy repair on common spares and a next day repair on any special order spares using our network of overnight commercial catering parts providers.
After every service call the engineer will hand over a copy of his report so the customer can see exactly what has been repaired or replaced. This service sheet is then transferred into our service database where we store the history of each piece of equipment we visit along with any work we carried out. This gives us a full history on each piece of inventory and if there is a consistent problem with a particular piece of equipment it is easily identified. This information can be presented to the customer for them to make an informed decision whether another repair is viable or would a new piece of equipment be more cost effective.

/Drainage & Tundish
You can also rely on Omega to install, replace or rectify your drainage works. This example shows (first image) a solid plumbed drain which allows no movement so staff cannot easily move the oven and clean behind, the second image shows a neatly installed tundish with a drain tube over the top which allows the oven to be moved easily for cleaning. The tundish also meets regulations by creating an air break on the waste connection.
We also rectified the existing pipework so that drainage smells were taken care of and altered the pipework so it drained more freely. We introduced anti-syphon traps on other areas of the system and eliminated the customers gurgling problems.
